Angus Taverner
Angus Taverner is the Global Affairs Director of the Dubai-based think tank, b’huth. He is a specialist in political risk, international relations, security analysis and strategic communication. He has worked with governments and organisations across Europe, the US and the Middle East involving: political and trend analysis; reputation management; and providing regular commentary on strategic issues that influence political, diplomatic and economic debate around the world. Before entering the policy arena he served in the British Army for 30 years.
Angus has contributed to a number of books on the international relations of the Arab Gulf and the strategic use of 'Soft Power' and the strategic employment of Information and Influence Campaigns. He comments frequently for the media and lectures widely including: The National Press Club, Washington; Chatham House, London; the Royal United Services Institution (RUSI), London; the University of Glasgow, the University of Sheffield, Aberdeen Business School and the NATO School; Oberammergau. He is: Director of the political risk and strategic communications’ consultancy, Smith Taverner Ltd, and Director of Dubai Research Ltd.
