Pantelis Tzortzakis

Mr. Pantelis Tzortzakis was born at Heraklion Crete. He studied Business Administration at the University of Piraeus and Computer Science at Brooklyn College, in New York. He founded FORTHnet SA., as he undertook the conversion from the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) to a company in 1987, attracting investment capital from Greece and abroad. He held the position of CEO at Forthnet since its inception in 1995, until 2011. For the period 2006 – 2009, he was a Member of the Supervisory Board of NETIA SA, the largest alternative telecommunications operator in Poland. From 2008 to 2011 he was the Chairman and CEO of NOVA, the first digital, satellite pay-tv platform in Greece. From 2007 to 2011 he was the Chairman of the Board of SEPE (Federation of Hellenic ICT Enterprises).

In 2011, Mr. Tzortzakis became the Prime Minister’s Consular for ICT. From June 2011 until May 2012 he served as “Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Administrative Reform and eGovernance”, and Chairman of the iCT Committee. Between September 2012 and May 2013 he was charged with the responsibility of coordinating the development of innovation and public procurement in the Ministry of Development.

In October 2013, he became the CEO of Quest Holdings SA. He resigned on December 2015, keeping the position of the Vice President of the Board, and created his own Company, providing investment and consulting services. He is member of the BoD of the Greek-Chinese Economic Council.

Mr.Tzortzakis has recently been appointed as the Secretary of  Digital policy and Research and Development Committee of the Greek Political Party, “Kinima Allagis” (Movement for Change).
